ESS Letter of Interest
Dear ESS West Licensing team,
Thank you for the opportunity to hopefully become a substitute
teacher in the Clackamas County and Washington County school systems. I look forward to starting as soon as possible.
I believe my
educational and professional background will help benefit the students I may
teach. I graduated with a Bachelor of
Science degree from the University of Florida in 1977. I then moved to Portland, Oregon in June
1978. In 1980, I was accepted to the
Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry, where I graduated with a
DMD degree in June 1984.
Soon after my graduation, I started my dental career practicing
at the Russell Street Clinic, while concurrently working at Aetna Insurance,
processing dental and medical claims. In
July 1985, I began practicing dentistry full time at Willamette Dental Group
until my retirement this past October in 2023.
At Willamette Dental Group, I was a vital member of our
Learning and Development team for many years, first as the Director of Doctor
Development for over ten years, and then as the Director of Health and Safety,
navigating our company though the COVID-19 pandemic since July 2020.
As the Director of Doctor Development, I onboarded every new
general dentist that came to our practice.
They were each provided with a tremendous overview of our treatment
philosophy, electronic charting system, and solid patient interaction skills. I was also involved in teaching all clinicians
our preventative risk management of dental caries and periodontal disease. This included many webinars and live classroom
sessions, which at times included over a hundred participants.
I have been told by many that I have a natural born talent
to teach and have made a positive impact on many of our providers.
Thank you for considering me for sponsorship. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
