May Check-In
In all things, I daily give thanks to God my Father for:
- For the Lord Jesus Christ and what he accomplished for me at Calvary.
- For the word of God which effectually worketh in me.
- For this fellowship, my family, and for a pastor who teaches the scriptures aright.
- For the privilege of being able to read the holy scriptures daily.
- For God's establishment commandment.
- For the Holy Ghost and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding.
- For all things that he has provided me in the earthly: food, clothing, shelter, my wife, my work.
This past month I embarked in a new career as a substitute teacher in a special education school for exceptionally needy students. Most of these students have severe problems such as autism, Down syndrome, unstable family lives, etc. The work is challenging, yet very rewarding. I have a lot to learn. However, each day I go to work, I go in singleness of my heart, as unto Christ, as the servant of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.
To help me in my new position, I started to learn Spanish. I was recommended and downloaded a couple of apps to help me converse in this new language. During the first day, I was inundated with messages about food, daily routines, entertainment, hobbies, and other trivial matters. For the sake of redeeming time, I immediately deleted both applications. I instead read a couple of Spanish newspaper articles daily. Surprisingly, I am able to comprehend most of what I read. I am also reading the Valera 1602 Purificada (a Spanish bible) and comparing it with the all authority King James Bible Pure Cambridge Edition. The Spanish translation of Romans 3:24-26, 4:21, and 16:25-27 is spot on.
I still need help praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. I pray for this to be natural and not mechanical. Regardless, it has helped me to know what the meaning is of laboring fervently in prayers.
Congratulations to John and Army Brown!
