Levítico 11(b)

 

1. The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, giving them specific instructions about animals.

1. El Señor habló a Moisés y a Aarón, dándoles instrucciones específicas sobre los animales.

2. Among the animals, they could eat only those that chew the cud and have split hooves.

2. Entre los animales, podían comer sólo los que rumian y tienen pezuña hendida.

3. You shall not eat animals like the camel, which chews the cud but does not have split hooves.

3. No comerás animales como el camello, que rumia pero no tiene pezuña hendida.

4. God commanded that the people should distinguish between clean and unclean animals.

4. Dios mandó que el pueblo distinguiera entre animales limpios e inmundos.

5. If anyone touches an unclean animal, they will be unclean until evening.

5. Si alguien toca un animal inmundo, será inmundo hasta la tarde.

6. They must avoid animals that crawl on their bellies, like snakes.

6. Deben evitar los animales que se arrastran sobre su vientre, como las serpientes.

7. The pig is unclean because, although it has split hooves, it does not chew the cud.

7. El cerdo es inmundo porque, aunque tiene pezuña hendida, no rumia.

8. They shall not touch their carcasses or eat their meat.

8. No tocarán sus cadáveres ni comerán su carne.

9. God instructed them to only eat creatures in the water that have fins and scales.

9. Dios les instruyó a comer sólo las criaturas en el agua que tienen aletas y escamas.

10. May the people always remember to follow these guidelines for holiness.

10. Que el pueblo siempre recuerde seguir estas pautas de santidad.

11. If you observe these laws, you will remain ceremonially clean.

11. Si observas estas leyes, permanecerás ceremonialmente limpio.

12. The Lord forbade eating animals that walk on paws, like cats.

12. El Señor prohibió comer animales que caminan sobre patas, como los gatos.

13. Even the eagle and the owl are considered unclean birds.

13. Aún el águila y el búho son considerados aves inmundas.

14. When you eat according to these rules, you honor God's holiness.

14. Cuando comes según estas reglas, honras la santidad de Dios.

15. God wanted Israel to avoid animals that could defile them.

15. Dios quería que Israel evitara animales que pudieran contaminarlos.

16. If they are to remain pure, they must not eat or touch anything unclean.

16. Si han de permanecer puros, no deben comer ni tocar nada inmundo.

17. They should pay attention to these rules as part of their faith.

17. Deben prestar atención a estas reglas como parte de su fe.

18. The Lord desired to set apart His people by their dietary choices.

18. El Señor deseaba apartar a Su pueblo mediante sus elecciones alimenticias.

19. Only the creatures with scales and fins were permitted to be consumed.

19. Sólo las criaturas con escamas y aletas tenían permiso de ser consumidas.

20. When you read these commands, you understand God’s call to holiness.

20. Cuando lees estos mandamientos, entiendes el llamado de Dios a la santidad.

21. Do not consume reptiles or amphibians that slither on the ground.

21. No consumas reptiles o anfibios que se arrastran en el suelo.

22. If they ignore these laws, they will defile themselves.

22. Si ignoran estas leyes, se contaminarán a sí mismos.

23. They must cleanse themselves if they touch something unclean.

23. Deben purificarse si tocan algo inmundo.

24. Let us observe these laws with reverence and obedience.

24. Observemos estas leyes con reverencia y obediencia.

25. Animals that swarm on the earth, like insects, are also unclean.

25. Los animales que pululan en la tierra, como los insectos, también son inmundos.

26. Do not let the uncleanness of any creature defile you.

26. No dejes que la inmundicia de ninguna criatura te contamine.

27. The Israelites must be holy because God is holy.

27. Los israelitas deben ser santos porque Dios es santo.

28. We are called to separate ourselves from impurity as a sign of holiness.

28. Somos llamados a apartarnos de la impureza como señal de santidad.

29. If they touch any unclean creature, they will need to wash their clothes.

29. Si tocan alguna criatura inmunda, deberán lavar sus ropas.

30. God’s instructions were to keep His people ceremonially clean.

30. Las instrucciones de Dios eran para mantener a Su pueblo ceremonialmente limpio.

31. The hare is unclean, for it chews the cud but does not have split hooves.

31. La liebre es inmunda, porque rumia pero no tiene pezuña hendida.

32. They must avoid any contact with carcasses of unclean animals.

32. Deben evitar cualquier contacto con cadáveres de animales inmundos.

33. The Lord desires His people to walk in purity and obedience.

33. El Señor desea que Su pueblo camine en pureza y obediencia.

34. If they accidentally touch an unclean animal, they will be unclean until evening.

34. Si accidentalmente tocan un animal inmundo, serán inmundos hasta la tarde.

35. Let us sanctify ourselves by following God's commands.

35. Santifiquémonos siguiendo los mandamientos de Dios.

36. It is important that they not consume anything that crawls on the earth.

36. Es importante que no consuman nada que se arrastre sobre la tierra.

37. Whoever touches their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean.

37. Cualquiera que toque su cadáver lavará sus ropas y será inmundo.

38. They will be holy if they obey God's rules regarding food.

38. Serán santos si obedecen las reglas de Dios sobre los alimentos.

39. God gave these commands so they would be distinct among the nations.

39. Dios dio estos mandamientos para que fueran distintos entre las naciones.

40. They were instructed to avoid animals with paws, like the dog.

40. Se les instruyó evitar animales con patas, como el perro.

41. If they follow these laws, they will show their obedience to God.

41. Si siguen estas leyes, mostrarán su obediencia a Dios.

42. God wants His people to be pure and avoid unclean creatures.

42. Dios quiere que Su pueblo sea puro y evite las criaturas inmundas.

43. They should not eat the hare, as it is unclean.

43. No deben comer la liebre, pues es inmunda.

44. All that swarms upon the earth is an abomination to them.

44. Todo lo que pulula sobre la tierra es abominación para ellos.

45. The eagle and the raven are among the unclean birds.

45. El águila y el cuervo están entre las aves inmundas.

46. They must remain holy by avoiding anything unclean.

46. Deben permanecer santos evitando todo lo inmundo.

47. If they distinguish between clean and unclean, they obey God’s will.

47. Si distinguen entre limpio e inmundo, obedecen la voluntad de Dios.

48. Let us follow God’s commands regarding purity and separation.

48. Sigamos los mandamientos de Dios sobre la pureza y la separación.

49. It is crucial to avoid creatures that crawl on the earth for purity.

49. Es crucial evitar criaturas que se arrastran en la tierra para la pureza.

50. They shall be set apart as holy by their obedience to God’s dietary laws.

50. Serán apartados como santos por su obediencia a las leyes dietéticas de Dios.
